SUMMARY:Energy & Environment Committee
DESCRIPTION:Energy and Environment Committee\n\nCome hear and learn about the Clean Energy Link and the Shoreham Solar Commons\n\n\n\nLIA members will have the opportunity to hear special presentations about two exciting new renewable energy projects being developed on Long Island by Invenergy.\n\n\n	The Clean Energy Link is the largest renewable energy project ever proposed for Long Island. Using an innovative portfolio approach that brings together six new wind and solar farms for a total of 700MW\, the Clean Energy Link will triple Long Island's green power supply. \n	Invenergy has proposed Shoreham Solar Commons\, which is a solar energy generation project that would repurpose the Tallgrass Golf Course in East Shoreham. The project would add nearly 25 MW of solar electricity that could power 3\,500 homes.\n\nBoth projects would help spur growth in Long Island's clean energy economy\, create jobs and reduce the region's carbon footprint while contributing to New York State's goal of deriving 50% of our electricity from renewables by 2030.
