Just hours after Vladimir Putin’s Russia began shelling a nuclear power plant in Kyiv, Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health, stood inside one of the health system’s distribution centers in Bethpage. There, team members had already packed up 28 pallets holding 18,000 pounds of desperately needed life-saving supplies. Blood-clotting agents, thoracic tubes, pediatric provisions and other supplies, valued at $160,000, would be making its way to Ukraine.
