LIA Job Opportunity: Director of Programs

The Long Island Association is seeking to hire a full-time Director of Programs to implement the vision of the LIA’s Board and Executive Team to foster Long Island’s economic growth. We are currently accepting applications for a new team member with a multi-disciplinary set of skills to support the LIA’s government affairs, communication, membership engagement, and events.

The primary responsibilities of the position will include:

- Supporting the management of the LIA's advocacy portfolio;

- Contributing to the development and implementation of major LIA programmatic initiatives, including research on policy issues, drafting letters, grant writing, and outreach to partners and stakeholders related to programmatic development;

- Supporting the implementation of all LIA events, including working on logistics for major, committee, and special events prior to the event and the day-of the event;

- Expanding opportunities to promote and communicate the work of the LIA on new digital communication channels;

- Researching opportunities to engage new members, building upon our communication and outreach strategies, and supporting membership growth; and

- Attending regional events to promote the work of the LIA.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor and Master-level college degree with five years of work experience.
Demonstrated strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of government, marketing/sales, digital platforms, and non-profit organization administration are a plus.
Preferred knowledge of the Long Island region and its challenges and opportunities.
