Long Island Association Honors Business Leader Jane Duggan at Annual Golf Classic
Glen Head, NY - On July 28, 2025, the Long Island Association (LIA) held its fifth annual LIA Golf Classic and Awards Reception, where members of the regional business community got business done on and off the course on a beautiful summer day. The LIA recognized long-time LIA Board Member and retired TD Bank Executive Jane Duggan for her vast contributions to Long Island’s economic growth and community service.
“Long Island summers offer warm weather, beautiful beaches, and lots of recreational fun, including at our world-class parks and golf courses. But our business community doesn’t stop and so our annual Golf Classic is a fun opportunity to network and collaborate among friends and associates, getting business done under the sun. It was wonderful to see so many LIA members enjoying a round of golf, expanding partnerships and making new contacts to boost their businesses. When the golf ended, we were thrilled to honor to Jane Duggan, a former LIA Board member and retired TD Bank executive who is known for her energy, enthusiasm, and gregarious approach to business. It was a pleasure to share her achievements with her family, colleagues, and the regional business community,” said Matt Cohen, LIA President & CEO.
“We couldn’t think of a more fitting honor at the annual Golf Classic for our long-time Board member Jane Duggan in honor of her service to the LIA and our greater Long Island community. She is a champion for business growth and has touched so many lives throughout her professional career and volunteer work. We are grateful for her contributions to the LIA on the Board and many different committees to support our role as an advocate for economic prosperity,” said Larry Waldman, Chair of the LIA Board of Directors.
“A heartfelt thanks to LIA management and Board of Directors for nominating me for this tremendous honor. I thoroughly enjoyed serving on the Board and garnering knowledge and deep connections as a result of my involvement. I also want to reiterate my thanks to all of the sponsors and friends that supported this memorable day. I had a special day at the LIA Golf Classic playing with my daughter and TD colleagues,” said Jane Duggan, 2025 LIA Golf Classic Honoree.
"Jane Duggan has been a wonderful colleague and dedicated member of the Long Island business community for decades, touching many companies, colleagues and community organizations through her work. TD Bank was pleased to join the Long Island Association in honoring Jane and sponsor this event, and we continue to wish Jane the best in her retirement,” said Anthony Esernio, LIA Board Member and Commercial Market President of Suburban New York.
Jane Duggan was a distinguished commercial banker – spending 45 years in her career in various leadership positions that serviced the middle market and corporate clientele. She managed the risk profile of $1 billion as Senior Vice President, Commercial Regional Group Manager of the Suburban NY Middle Market Segment at TD Bank. While Jane achieved many professional successes and helped support the growth of companies on Long Island, she has a passion for giving back and creating a supportive work environment, including for women leaders. Jane served on the LIA Board of Directors, LIA Executive Committee, Audit and Finance Committee, and Co-Chaired the Economic Development and Infrastructure Committee. Jane is a native Long Islander - she was born and grew up in Huntington, and she also raised her four children in Nassau County with her late husband John.
